Christian Education

The Christian Education program at Pawling is a comprehensive attempt to fill the needs of all members and friends of the Church to learn what it means to be a disciple (follower) of Jesus.

Church School on Sunday mornings at 9:00 offers classes for learners from 2-year-olds through Senior Adults.

Classes for 2008-2009
Our Sunday School is going strong! Children's classes are offered for all ages from two to senior high and all have room for more students. View Calendar.

Adult Class                                                       9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
The adult class meets upstairs in the Lounge.  This class is open to everyone, novices and experts.  You will be encouraged (but not pressured) to partake in the discussion and we hope you will be able to draw on experiences to deepen your understanding of God's Word.  We'll offer you a great cup of coffee, a warm smile, and a chance to connect with some authentic followers of Jesus Christ.  Come join us! 

Nursery Care                                                     10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Nursery care is available free for infants through four years old during  the worship service.  Our qualified helpers are located in the upper level in fellowship hall. 

Children & Youth                                                  9:00 - 10:00 a.m.  
We provide an exciting, modified workshop rotation format where the same Bible story is taught for a five-week period using multi-learning styles.  The children take part in telling the Bible story via different media, such as Computers, Puppets, Cooking, Drama, Music, as well as create expressions of Art that shows what they are learning.

Our mission is to teach our children to know God, love God, and serve God.  The Sunday School at the Pawling United Methodist Church engages children and youth in a survey of stories in the Old and New Testaments, that they might experience the God of Scripture as their God.  We believe...

Children’s Choir                                             11:25 a.m. – 11:40 a.m.
The children are dismissed following the sermon for Children’s Choir which meets Downstairs in the education wing.  Our choir is led by our gifted and talented Toni LaPietra and Rene Rogers.
