Youth Ministry

Purpose Statement

Our youth ministry exists to win non-believers, to expose the growing students to a ministry, to unite them in Christ, and to build a firm Christlike foundation, rooted in prayer and God's word while glorifying Christ in worship.

Youth Events

Wednesday

Our time on Wednesday nights focuses on the purpose of winning students to Christ. The night is full of action in which 6-12 graders can share in a time of contemporary praise and worship, prayer, games, and a lesson to help train students to serve God in their everyday lives.

Sunday

Methodist Youth Fellowship is a time when students can relax and enjoy themselves. It serves to provide another opportunity to impact teens lives for Jesus Christ. The night begins with food and is followed by friendly competitions and contemporary praise and worship. To maximize the impact on students, the junior and senior high groups are divided for the nightly lesson.

Pathfinders

Pathfinders is a summer retreat which enables us to achieve our goal of reaching every student in Pike County with the Gospel of Christ. There students are trained to be active agents in fulfilling the Great Commission. They return to school with eveangelism skills to give them confidence in becoming contagious Christians.

About Our Youth Minister

Troughout the Bible, God used ordinary men to do His work, and I am as ordinary as one can get.
For twenty years, I tried to pour my life into sports, popularity, education, and anything else the world told me would fill the void in my life. I remember the feeling of loneliness, stress, instability, and longing for love that each teenager feels today.
It was not until a few years ago that I surrendered and trusted my life to Christ. Since that time, Christ has laid a burden on my heart for reaching the world with the Gospel. I have found, through the last few years of training, that the fastest way to accomplish Christ's commission is through teenagers. Students are around more lost people through their junior and senior high school years than the rest of their lives combined. This is our opportunity to build campus missionaries show these teens the love of Christ and the adventure of living a Christ centered life.
