I am very humbled to be the pastor of this great church as we move into our 55th year of ministry. Many wonderful pastors have been here before me, lighting the way for the church with an example of faith and vision. But the spirit and faith truly goes deeper as we look at the body of the Park Memorial family. They are a people of conviction and love who have been willing to step out in obedience to the Lord and relocate the church facility five different times. Every obedient walk in the calling of Service and Ministry has brought greater faith and a broader ministry to the church. What a legacy of inspiration and loyalty we have from these 53 years, seeing God open doors and His people step out to meet new needs. Park Memorial is a people of vision, a family of faith. As proud as we are of our heritage, today we are continuing to meet new and broadening challenges within our church,community and world. At our Church Conference in August of 2001, the Park Memorial church family stepped up again and showed their faithfulness by approving and endorsing the addition of a new building called the Claudia Crosby Family Life Center. Once more we see the broadening of our ministries and work toward the addition of more space so that our programs of discipleship, Sunday School, youth and children may continue to grow. Exciting doesn't seem to be sufficient to describe what is happening here at Park Memorial. We study and strive to be faithful to God's Word and His purpose for His church and daily we are amazedat how richly God is blessing our church family. This 55th year of ministry let us stand proud of our heritage and step forward in awe as God continues to light our paths of ministry. |
