Our Purpose
We at Park United Methodist Church declare our purpose to be:
- to help people develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- to assist people learn how to live their daily lives in light of their relationship with
God.
Therefore, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we prayerfully commit to:
- minister to our neighborhood,
- train and nurture our congregation
- cooperate in ministry with other churches in order to reach beyond our immediate
surroundings.
Our Prayer
God, help us be a Home, a Heart, and a Haven.
Trusting God to answer our prayers, we have planned in our programming and budgeting,
specific goals for 1999 to:
- begin a new Handbell Choir ministry
- increase Sunday School outreach
- expand our Sunday night programming.
Beyond our specific plans, we have taken a lesson from a musical the youth performed
recently, and are trying to keep an eye out for God's "Big Picture." In the
musical by Michael W. Smith, a new resident in heaven asked an angel about God's plan. The
angel smiled and said, "I don't know what will happen next, but
isn't it exciting?"
