Mary Jane Havens lead the Disciple Bible Study, following training she recieved through a scholarship provided by the Columbia-Mexico District. The purpose of Disciple is to develop strong Christian leaders through study of Scripture. The purpose can be summarized in the words of Ephesians 4:12 "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."(Disciple Handbook)

The members of the Disciple Bible Study received Certificates as they concluded their final night of the study together.
The twelve members completing the 34 week study were J.W. and Ruth Kendrick, Margaret Milam, Janet Nugent, Bonnie Sudsberry, Marilyn Rosenkrans, Murline Hamilton, Ida Jean Wheelan, Mabel Hollingsworth, Freda Cupp and Mary Jane Havens.
Those attending the Bible Study agree that they have a better understanding of their faith, through the in depth study offered by the Disciple Bible Study.
