Upshur Cooperative Parish

Carol says she sees the cooperative parish concept "as the body of Christ in action." Carol says she was especially moved when she was offering additional baby formula to a single mom. In the course of the conversation, Carol says she complimented the woman on the jacket she was wearing. "Before the words were out of my mouth," she says, "she took her jacket off and placed it on me." Recalling Matthew 25: 31-46, she says, "I knew that I had been touched by God."
A native of Middletown, OH, Carol earned a degree in Christian education from West Virginia Wesleyan and a master's of Christian education from Methodist Theological Seminary in Delaware, OH. She was ordained a deacon and associate member of the West Virginia Conference in 1999.
Before going to college, Carol worked as a designer at a floral center and as a bank receptionist. She served as a local pastor of the Volga and Gary charges from 1992-99.
