The Music Ministries of Paradise Hills Church (UMC)

One of the primary reasons we exist is to worship God and to glorify Him in all that we do. At PHUMC, we have a thriving worship community with countless opportunities for involvement. If you don't see something that fits you, call us and let us know how you'd like help us worship and glorify God together.

MUSIC MINISTRY TEAMS

Music has a unique ability to enhance many aspects of our lives; and through music in the church, we seek to glorify God in the gifts with which he has greatly blessed us. Come help us make a joyful noise!

Music for Children & Youth

The Children's Choir "Good News Singers": Good News Singers is open to all children, grades 1-5, and helps lead worship several times each month. We meet in the Sanctuary on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. There are always great activities and the music is very fun! ("GNS" observes Summer vacation time.)

The Youth Choir "Voices of Fire": For youth in grades 6-12, Voices of Fire helps lead worship several times each month and rehearses in the Sanctuary on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Come help us sing our praises to the Lord as we learn and grow together! ("VOF" observes Summer vacation time.)

The Instrumental Ensemble: This is our newest musical group, open to children and youth, grades 1-12. If you play any band or orchestra instrument at any proficiency level, we'd love you to join us. We rehearse in the Sanctuary on Wednesdays, from 6:30-7:15 p.m. (This ensemble observes Summer vacation time.)

The Youth Praise Band: Leading worship one Sunday afternoon each month at R.U.1.2? (Youth Fellowship), we love to try out new music styles and express our love for the Lord in worship. Are you looking for a new way to jam for God? We need musicians, audio/video techies, visual artists, and anyone else. We've got state-of-the-art equipment and great instruments to play on, including congas, bongos, guitars, piano and keyboards, and even a turntable for anyone who wants to skratch! So, bring your fresh ideas for youth worship!

Music for Adults

The Praise & Worship Choir and the Chancel Choir: Do you enjoy singing! Don't be afraid to join us. We're all mostly non-musicians who just want to praise God in song as we learn and grow together. We have a great time and the more the merrier! These two choirs provide worship leadership at the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship gatherings (respectively), and rehearse together in the Sanctuary on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. (And we take the Summer off.)

The Praise Band "no dark corners": Otherwise known as "ndc", we lead worship at the 9:30 a.m. worship gathering and have a great time playing music and studying Scripture together each Saturday morning. This group requires a few additional hours of personal rehearsal and study time during the week, but if you've got the chops, we need you!

Vocal and Instrumental Soloists: If you've got musical talents as a vocalist or instrumentalist, and can't make a weekly commitment, you may consider performing occasionally in worship. We have printed music for all instruments and vocal styles, and we promise you won't have to play or sing until you feel prepared and comfortable.

OTHER MUSIC TEAMS

If you didn't see anything that fits your style, please let us know. New programs take resources and time, but if there is plenty of enthusiasm and energy, we can do it together!

If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspects of worship at Paradise Hills Church, please call Andy English in the Church Office at 898-1327.
