Dinner for 8Dinner for Eight is Great!!

The Hospitality Team is bringing back the “Dinner for Eight” activity for everyone in the congregation. This is a great way for anyone who attends different Sunday services to become better acquainted with each other. Here’s a reminder on how this works if you did not attend the dinners in the beginning of this year. The program is to have individuals and/or couples sign up to go to dinner in groups of eight or less. One person in each group would volunteer to call the others and suggest a time and place for the first dinner. After that, the group would decide where and when they would dine next. Three alternatives are recommended: restaurant dining, someone’s home dining or in Fellowship Hall. Sign up sheets will be in Fellowship Hall today. For more info on this activity, you may contact Clay Bergdahl at 890-0474.

Praying HandsLUNCH-TIME COMMUNITY PRAYER

UPDATE: Since Jan. 14, 2009, our Sanctuary has been open for prayer from 12 to 1:30pm. During this time period,182 plus people from our church and a few from the community have dropped in for prayer giving whatever time they've had available to present themselves before the Lord, offering praise, thanksgiving, petitions and intercession for others. A faithful group of men have set up the candle/altar and communion table each week. We thank each of you who've helped set-up and those who've been able to participate. We know each prayer offered in the name of the Father, Jesus Christ His Son and the Holy Spirit have been working mightily.

EFFECTIVE THIS WEEK our Wed. Lunch-Time Community Prayer is being suspended until further notice. As the holidays approach, we hope each of us will find a quiet place and avail ourselves of the wonderful opportunity to come into our Lord's presence and give thanks, confess our sins, and offer intercession for others. Sincerely in Christ,       Dave Hoyt

If you wish to pray in the Sanctuary during office hours, please see Kay.

Ministries of Paradise Hills Church (UMC)

One of the primary reasons we exist is to worship God and to glorify Him in all that we do. At PHUMC, we have a thriving worship community with countless opportunities for involvement. If you don't see something that fits you, call us and let us know how you'd like to help us worship and glorify God together.

Here are some Ministry opportunities at PHUMC:

Prayer & Praise

Prayer & Praise is the time to pray for our church, our country, and each other. Help us pray each Wednesday at 7:15pm in the "Alpha" classroom. Remember: our healing team is always available.

We pray for everyone in our church family. If you have a specific prayer request, you may fill out a prayer slip (in pew backs) and drop it in the collection plate, call the church office at 898-1327, or e-mail: phumc@cybermesa.com.

Noonday Ministries

“Noonday Ministries” continues to help the poor and homeless. Please donate new and used Health Care items: toothpastes, soaps, razors, deodorant, shaving cream, band-aids, etc. Beauty Products: Shampoo, lotions, make-up, perfume, etc. Please bring your products to the Fellowship Hall.

Shepherd's Love Fund

The Shepherd’s Love Fund helps individuals who need help with rent, utilities, or gasoline to get to work. If you wish to donate to this special outreach fund, you may write a check to PHUMC and write in the memo  “Shepherd’s Love Fund” and put it in the offering plate or in the baskets at the Prayer Rail.

Bulletin Articles

Is there something you would like to have advertised in the weekly bulletin and web page? Maybe your small group is planning an activity or you would like to say a special thanks to someone. Send your submission to phumc@cybermesa.com by 12n on Tuesdays.
