[Photo of Pastor Miguel]Pastor ~ The Rev. Miguel Balderas has served under appointment in the Baltimore-Washington Conference for eight years. Previously, he served as a pastor in the Methodist Church in Mexico for 10 years. His appointments in the Baltimore-Washington Conference have included: First UMC in Hyattsville and Casa del Pueblo in Washington D.C. He has served on the conference Commission on Sessions and the Committee on Hispanic Ministries. Balderas is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary, receiving is M. Div. in 2002 and D. Min. in 2007. He was ordained an Elder in May 2007. Balderas has a passion for teaching, preaching and multi-cultural ministry. e-mail to Pastor


[Photo of Patty]Lay Visitation Minister ~ Patty Schnirel was born and raised in Ohio. After her husband, David, graduated from Ohio State, they temporarily moved to Maryland. That was 1968. Patty and her family live in Ft. Washington and have four children, Bill and his wife Erin, Amy, Abigail and Andrew.
Patty has worked at Children's Hospital in Columbus, and has worked for a local Pediatrician and an OB/GYN practice in the area. She has enjoyed teaching Lamaze Childbirth classes with the Childbirth Education Association, as an independent Childbirth Educator, for the last 25 years. This allowed her to stay at home with her children while they were little. At this time, she reaches out and travels to those on bedrest so they too may participate in a prepared childbirth.
From 1989 to 1998, Patty taught the two year old class at Broad Creek Child Development Program in Ft. Washington. Patty and her family started coming to OHUMC in 1992 and joined the church family in 1993. Since coming, she has been active as Cribbery Coordinator, on the Christian Education committee, and Children's Council. She serves on the Administrative Board. She participates in a Covenant Disciple group which has helped her in her Christian journey. Patty is also a Stephen Minister.

[Photo of Susan]Administrative Assistant ~ Susan McDonald works as office staff to support the adminstrative functions of the Pastor and the Church.
Supportive, dedicated, accustomed to the unexpected, she interfaces with the public and lay leaders for the administrative support of the Church's mission. Knowledgeable of the Church's programs she provides information, initial guidance and direction for help and assistance.


[Photo of Manny]Sexton ~ Emmanuel (Manny) Legaspi, born in the Phillippines, a US Navy retiree, a Sanctuary Choir member, a Bible student, volunteered his service when the previous sexton had an extended sick leave. Dedicated and courteous, he serves the church with praise and receives praises from those that observe his service.
