Owensville UMC has two United Methodist Women's groups.  Both meet on the second Wednesday of each month, at 9:00 am and at 6:30 pm.  We are a very active and enthusiastic bunch of women.  We have many different projects going on all through the year.  Keep an eye on this page to find out about them.  If you are interested in being part of our group, come to one of the meetings listed above.

THE COOKBOOKS ARE DONE! 

The Evening Circle reports that they collected over 350 recipes!

The cookbooks are soon to be delivered and will cost $11.00.  Please call the church office for more information.

OWENSVILLE UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

May 12, 2004 the United Methodist Women met in the Church Social Hall. 11 members were present. The meeting began at 9:10 am.  Marcilyn Marvel  presided opening with Purpose and Prayer Calendar.  Peggy Callis gave devotions from Birds & Blooms magazine. Response moment by Grace Johnson.

Carol Garrett was in charge of program and presented the month of May.  There are many special days in May. She had readings for each of us on Derby Day, Mother’s day, graduation, Memorial Day, VE Day, Lewis & Clark, Armed Forces Day, Strawberry month and many other days.  We finished the program with a contest on May.

Minutes approved as printed.  Treasurer’s Report was approved.  .

Cards have been sent and Joys and concerns were discussed.

Funeral Dinners were set up Peggy and Grace in June and Carol and AnnaMarie in July.

Graduation honor dinner and service on May 23.  Invitations will be sent to graduates and families.  Gifts will be purchased. Cards and bookmarks for College graduates, music CD’s for High School, and posters for eight grade.

Hostess for May 23 will be Grace Johnson, Carol Garrett, Jane Shackelford and Arlene McCandless.

Dates to remember: School of Christian Mission in July.

We discussed having prayer in our Sunday School Classes each week for the worship service and Pastor Mark.

We closed singing Bless Be the Tie.

 Next meeting is June 9 at 9 AM.
