Burton A. Young, Jr.

ORGANIST

Hello, I am in my eighteenth year as organist here at Otterbein, helping lead worship from the organ bench.  In addition to my keyboard responsibilities, I also help with the children who call me MR. BURT, and direct the Cathedral Ringers, one of our adult handbell choirs.

At home along with my wife Stephanie, we are kept busy raising our two young boys.  We like spending our evenings together playing and when we take a vacation, it is usually at the beach (they better have a pool!).

When I am not at church or at home you can find me at my “real job” working as a sales representative for Rexel, a distributor of electrical and data communication products. It pays the bills.

Should you have any questions about our music program or church organ, please feel free to contact me at youngb@rexelusa.com.

A little about our organ...

A "Pipe Organ" has been an important part of our sanctuary since 1898-when our first Moller Pipe Organ was installed. This organ was extensively remodeled in 1926 and served until our current instrument came to be in 1969.

Our three manual and pedal instrument of 25 stops and 32 ranks containing 1,778 pipes the size of which vary from an ordinary lead pencil to pipes which are sixteen feet long and two feet in diameter serves our congregation well. Weather it be a recital or leading congregational singing, this organ is an important part of the Otterbein family.
