Worship

We gather for worship each Sunday for a contemporary worship at 8:30a.m and for a traditional service at 10:50a.m. Most of the 10:50 services have a traditional format; however, from time to time this worship may be more contemporary in format.  Otterbein UMC make use of drama, contemporary music, liturgical dance and personal testimonies to create a meaningful worship experience.

If you would like to learn more about the love of Jesus, be baptized, or join the church, talk to Pastor Ken at the church (304-263-0342) or email otterbeinumc@verizon.net.

Holy Communion is celebrated during worship on the first Sunday of each month.

Throughout the year, Otterbein UMC holds several special worship services, especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons.

Nursery Care Nursery care for children aged birth to 5 years is available each Sunday upstairs in the children's department.

Children's worship Children are welcome in worship at Otterbein UMC!  Worship Activity Kits (with lots to do in them) help children understand the worship service.  We also have a special children's message.  Junior church, for children in grades K-2 and 3-5, is held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.

Youth worship Teens in grades 6 through 12 have their own worship with great music and lots of fun!  This group meets in the youth worship room in the basement.

Assistive listening devices are available for those worshippers who may have trouble hearing the service.  Please see an usher for assistance.

The Altar Guild is responsible for the symbols used in worship and the decorations in the sanctuary.  Flowers are placed in the sanctuary each week in honor/memory of church members.  A rosebud is placed on the altar to celebrate the birth of children of church members.

Weddings All weddings must be approved by the pastor and scheduled with the church office: otterbeinumc@verizon.net or 304-263-0342.  A wedding planner handbook is available from the church office to help in planning the special day.
