Church Activities


GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS

We would be happy to have you with us and hope you will want to share your time and talent with our church family and outreach. Below is a list of church activities and some brief descriptions. Also check the Sunday bulletin and monthly Tidings newsletter for additional meetings or times involved.

Worship Services
  • 9:00 A.M. and l0:30 A.M. in Sanctuary.
  • Note: summer hours -8:00 A.M.-outside in Chapel 10:00 A.M.-Sanctuary
  • Greeters, Ushers, Sunday school and Nursery - Infants thru High School (both services)
  • Coffee Hour following services.

    Choirs
  • Chancel Choir (Adults and older teens)
  • Chorister Choir-- grades 3- 6
  • Cherub Choir-- age 4 - grade 2
  • Chime Choir-
  • Teen Choir--grades 7 - 12
  • Praise Band

    Sunday Bible Study- Church Parlor -7:45 A.M.

    Bible Studies

    Youth Fellowship
    Senior High Group: Grades 9 - 12
    Junior High Group: Grades 6 - 8

    Bright Promises Preschool
    Monday to Friday A preschool enrolling children ages 3 - 5. Morning and afternoon sessions.

    Lend -a Hand
    Every Monday 9:00 AM.to 12 noon. Group of men who maintain our church and property- Painting, electric, carpentry, plumbing, landscape, etc.-- and assist in church activities.

    Fair Workshop
    Meet every Mon. and Tues. 9:00 A.M. to l2:00.noon. Women work all year on crafts for annual fall Church Fair- Sewing, painting and wreath decorating, etc.

    United Methodist Women
    Monthly meetings - all women are invited for creative and supporting fellowship and participating in global ministries of church.

    Dinner & Dialogue Fellowship
    Meet first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. in members homes.

    Dorcas Ladies Lunch Fellowship
    Meet monthly Tuesdays in Church Parlor --12:30 PM.

    Hospitality for funerals and Memorial Receptions

    Supper Club
    Friday evening, once a month for dinner and fellowship. Sign up on church bulletin board.

    CHURCH OUTREACH AND MISSIONS

    Miracle Kitchen
  • Soup, sandwiches and desserts for Salvation Army, Hyannis, MA.
  • First Tuesday of each month. Sign -up on church bulletin board.

    Noah Shelter
  • Casserole, salad and bread for Noah Shelter, Hyannis, MA
  • Four times a year. Sign-up on church bulletin board.

    Sandwich Food Pantry
    White cupboard in solarium for donations of food and other needed items.

    Day of Hospitality Dinner
    Dinner the first Sunday of each month for 20-25 homeless people coordinated with the Salvation Army.

    Overnight of Hospitality
  • Stay overnight one night per month with homeless women.
  • Volunteers needed to drive, donate food and supplies and overnight stays

    Friendship Ministry Meets twice a month teaching Bible lessons to young adults with developmental challenges.

    Visiting Committee
    Visiting elderly members in homes or nursing home on regular basis. If possible, transporting to church services.

    Church Library
    Cataloging and organizing books for members reference and enjoyment

    Vacation Bible School
  • Offered one week in July for pre-school thru 6th grade. 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon.
  • Opportunity for Bible study and teaching, crafts, music and snack positions.

    Rainbow's End
    Consignment shop next to church annex. Retail clerks assisting in sales and taking donations and consignments. Proceeds go to church budget.

    Rummage Sales
    Large Spring and Fall sale at church sponsored by UMW with proceeds going to their mission programs. Look for Red Hat to sign -up for various jobs such as sorting, cashiering, etc.

    Softball Team
    Open to any church member. Practices begin in the spring. Games spring and summer.
