1. Select and request a date and project. Contact the OC office for team leaders guide.

2. Contact the OC Office to confirm an open date at wagners@operationclassrom.org.

3. The OC office will assist in setting the budget and the payment schedule. Operation Classroom handles Operation Classroom VIM teams.

4. Keep in communication with VIM or OC coordinator in Liberia or Sierra Leone and the OC office

5. Select team members using the OC application. The OC office will send each team member a confirmation letter and preliminary information.

6. OC will assist in making the plane reservations.

7. The OC office will assist in sending construction funds. Should be sent 4 months before you plan to be there.

8. The OC office will assist in planning your orientation. They will provide the OC Survival workbook to West Africa.

9. Plan to use the book: BEFORE YOU PACK YOUR BAGS PREPARE YOUR HEART

10. Have at least 7 hours in orientation sessions; preferably two or more, or an overnight retreat. If you are in Indiana, the Operation Classroom Coordinators will lead your orientation session. Otherwise, Someone who has been to West Africa should lead the orientation. Preparing for West Africa is different than most places teams go

11. The OC office will assist in obtaining visas

12. Take your team to West Africa!

13. Have each member fill out an evaluation

14. Have a time to get together when you return
