Dr David Dunn of Riley Hospital, Ann Newton, social worker, of Greencastle, and Sue Mullendore, a school counselor,  of Crawfordsville has been selected to go to Liberia October 23 to November 6 to conduct a trauma couseling workshop for 36 Liberian clergy and lay persons. The content of the workshop will be a basic understanding of counseling, especially as it relates to trauma, substance abuse and Domestic violence issues.  This is the 7th counselling seminar Operation  Classroom has held in Liberia since 1994. Operation Classroom has also conducted similar workshops in Sierra Leone (4) and Cote d' Ivoire (2).
 
The program was started by Rev. David V.W. Owen, Assistant to Bishop Coyne and Bishop Arthur Kulah.  The Liberia Annual Conference formed a partnership with Operation Classroomto establish the S. Edward Peal Center for Reconciliation and Renwal.  They have also placed counselors in 9 of the United Methodsit Schools.  $150 spoonsorships for the Liberiaan participants are needed.  For more information contact the Operation Classroom Office.
