Where Are We

The First United Methodist Church of Oakwood is located at 4315 Allen St. in downtown Oakwood, Georgia.  Oakwood is a small community just south of Gainesville, Georgia off of exit 16 of I-985.  Follow the directions below to arrive at our church.  Click here for a map.

From Gainesville, Georgia:

1. Take I-985 south to exit 16.

2. Turn Right on to Mundy Mill Road (Hwy 53) and go 1.1 mile to traffic light, turn left on Old Oakwood Road.

3. Take Old Oakwood Road 7/10 of mile to stop sign at Main Street.

4. Turn left on Main Street - go 2/10 of mile (cross RR track)  

5. Just as you cross the RR track, turn right on Railroad Street

6. Go one block and turn left on Allen Street.

7. Go 1/10 mile to Oakwood First UMC on left

From Atlanta, Georgia

1. Take I-85 North to I-985 North
2. Take exit 16 off I-985
3. Turn Left on to Mundy Mill Road
4. After going under the expressway and the on ramp for I-985, follow directions 3-10 above

From Braselton/ Winder Hwy

1. Come into Oakwood by Hwy 53.  This road becomes Mundy Mill Road.
2. Turn Right on to Mundy Mill Road (Hwy 53) and go 1.1 mile to traffic light, turn left on Old Oakwood Road.

From the Cumming Area

1. Take Hwy 369 towards Gainesville.
2. At the McEver Road/ Hwy 53 bypass, turn right.
3. Go to the Fourth Traffic Light, Flat Creek Road.
4. Turn Left onto Flat Creek Road
5. Go to the Stop Sign at Main Street, turn right.
6. After crossing the Rail Road tracks, turn right onto Rail Road Street.
7. Turn left onto Allen Street just past the City Park.
8. Church is on the left above the park.
