What Are We

  The First United Methodist Church of Oakwood, Georgia is a member of the Gainesville District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.  We are a connectional church that works together with our sister churches locally, nationally and globally. By being a part of a global church, our resources are pooled to reach the world with the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. 

        We are unashamedly Christian, holding to the Bible as the inspired Word of God, tradition as what links us to our past, our reason and intellect as gifts of God to assist us in our understanding of who God is, and our experiences as the witness of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives.
