Fellowship Groups

We are a group of believers committed to worshipping and serving Jesus Christ. As a United Methodist Church, we join with likeminded Christ-followers in spreading the gospel around the world.

Two thousand years ago Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds.  He met the people one on one and loved them as they were.  With those that laughed he laughed, and with those that cried he cried.  And so they came: the man exiled from family and friends because of disease; the young couple enduring a miscarriage;  the woman living on the edge just longing to be wanted...and needed. Some needed physical healing, other wounds were not so visible. But all were welcomed, all were loved, and all that wanted a new chance at life received it!  Some walked away, but none were ever turned away.  That's the Good News!

At Oaklette United Methodist Church we just want to do the same: Offer the Healing, Hope and Hospitality of Christ. Our goal is to impact the community and make an obvious difference in the lives of the people we encounter.  We know that this will not happen by accident. That is why we are intentional about keeping The Great Commandment and The Great Commission.

The Great Commandment

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: 'Love
the Lord your God with all your heart, with all you soul and with all your mind.'
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your
neighbor as yourself.'  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
                  commandments."

Matthew 22: 36-40

The Great Commission

Alright, so I get the Great Commandment, but what's the Great Commission?  We are told
by Jesus' disciple, Matthew, that once we have a relationship with Christ and we learn to
truly love God and love each other then we go share that "Good News" with everyone. The
Good News that Jesus came to put us in a right relationship with God and that God loves and
is ready and willing to accept us and forgive us.

This Message turns the world upside down!

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything that
        I have commanded you."
                                                                          Matthew 28:19-20
