The Board of Trustees serves the First United Methodist Church: Oakhurst as its link between the care of the Church facilities and faith with the mission and ministry of the Church.

 

Each Board member has a special gift of knowledge of repairing and maintenance of equipment.  Members may also serve to promote the ministry of the Church.

 

Members are elected to serve a three-year term by a Charge Conference.  In order to maintain continuity and experience, select members are chosen each year.  Although some non-members are allowed to serve, the Chairperson must be a member of our Church.

 

As trustees, we conduct annual inventory of all real property, including conducting inspections of our Church and two parsonages.  We care for the service contracts on large equipment, such as air conditioners, boilers, refrigerators, copy machines, etc.

 

Meetings are held once a month, usually on the fourth Monday of the month.

 

Our funding is the responsibility of the Finance Committee.   They receive our spending plan or budget for the necessary maintenance, upkeep, and management of our Church-owned buildings and grounds.
