Were you at the 2005 session of annual conference held June 1-4 at Hofstra University? If so, did you visit our parish nursing display table or participate in the lose-a-ton challenge? We’d like to hear from you regarding whether or not these were helpful to you and if you have any suggestions for the future. Please e-mail us to let us know your thoughts.

The parish nurse team site would like this web site to have a more complete list of hospitals and other organizations involved in facilitating the establishment and ongoing mission of parish nurse programs in our conference. If your community has such a resource, please e-mail us to let us know so that the information can be shared. We particularly need information about such resources within our districts in New York State.

We would like to start a list of speakers who have been involved in parish nursing and who are willing to visit United Methodist Churches in our conference to share their experiences and expertise. This can be a great help to churches hoping to start or expand their health care ministries. If you are willing to be on the list, please e-mail us.

We’d like to hear about what your church is doing in health ministry. Please let us know and we could pass the idea on to others through this web page.

Churches might find it useful to have very short articles that could be downloaded from this site to use as bulletin inserts, perhaps one per month. Would something seasonal be appropriate. . .What about warnings about the damage that the summer sun can do to the skin or tips on ways to avoid tick bites in the woods or garden?
