The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Above: Conference President Amy Johnson and Mildred Carter, one of our former district presidents, are happy to be together at District Annual Meeting in the fall of 2005. Amy became conference president in 2006 and served as treasurer of the Western North Carolina Conference in the four years prior to that. She was the guest speaker at this event. Mildred currently is the chairperson of our district's Committee on Nominations. She is a member at Yadkinville UMC.
