The 100 Club was the idea of Vance Rogers,
former President of Nebraska Wesleyan University, who suggested that in order to
start the fund we should consider getting one hundred members who will give $100
each. This idea was adopted quickly when Franklin Littlefield made the
motion to adopt this mission of the One Hundred Club and it was seconded by Al
Ebers and the motion passed unanimously. Since the inception of the idea,
four hundred and two United Methodist Men have given over forty thousand dollars toward our goal of one hundred men and ten thousand
dollars.

Randy Fleming Chairman from 1989 until 1995

John Wesley is often quoted for his
"economic doctrine." To understand it, one would have to
understand Wesley's sense that everything already belongs to God, that we are
stewards of God's possessions, and they should be used to glorify the
Creator. He said Christians should gain (earn) all that we can, save all
that we can, and give all that we can. Once again, we see a Wesleyan
"doctrine" which points to a way of discipleship and life.
