History
On a pleasant fall day in October of 1855, the Onstot
Family invited a Methodist Preacher to lead worship in their log cabin in an
area soon to be named the town of Norwalk. After worship a Methodist class was
organized and became part of a regular preaching circuit.
Over 150 years later the church has grown to over 800 members and ministers
through the third building across the street from the original site. Because of
our continued growth, more facilities are needed.
The Norwalk United Methodist Church is active in support of the community and of
missions. Hosting a Cub Scout Pack with 100 boys participating is one of our
many services to the community. We believe in reaching out to all people as a
truly open congregation.
