August Events (just the highlights…just the highlights!) 3: Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost Communion at both services. Movie night for the youth. The quiet before the storm. If you’re interested in singing in the choir, this is the time to start with us.
A choir can enhance a worship service like nothing else. And we have
good music and sometimes rehearsals are hilarious. We have new music
for the chancel choir and....we are actually looking at Christmas! Hard to believe.
And you’re invited to sing for the praise choir as well. Chancel choir rehearses
at 6:30 and praise choir at 7:30.....every Wednesday. We will conclude the service on the front lawn with a groundbreaking
and benediction. After that we’ll hit fellowship for a covered dish dinner.
That afternoon, we will have a final football game on the church lawn...
somewhere around 4 pm. I know it may be hot, but we’ll have lots of
water and we’ll remember some of the games we’ve played. If you’ve
ever played football with us, this will be the day to return. our preschool teachers back for another year. In this summer, our
current director, Susan Simon, has expressed a wish to resign to
stay home for her children. The Staff Parish Committee has hired
Connie Champ to be the new director. Connie is originally from
Hickory, NC and lives in Hubert and brings with her an incredibly
peaceful countenance and some great skills in reading learning
and comprehension.
back to school party at noon (see the youth page).
31: Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost
This is Labor Day weekend. But we’ll be wide open. I wonder what
it will look like in our church yard with the construction........
