Ever wanted to "skip" church on Sunday?  Now's your chance!  We are headed out into the community on Sunday, October 11, 2009 to be in service with others, to carry the love of Jesus and be the hands and feet of God in Jacksonville!!

Projects we will be working on include building wheelchair ramps, fixing a leaky roof, caulking and painting windows, pumping gas, assembling health kits and care kits, visiting nursing homes, preparing lunch for area firemen, etc...  Other possible projects include working with parks and recreation and the public schools.  There will be something for all ages to do!

How can you be involved?

1.  Pray for this ministry

2.  Participate in small groups, Sunday School and bible studies, to learn about service according to God's word.

3.  Sign up to lead a project or participate in a project.

4.  Donate items or money to help make a project successful.

5.  Skip church October 11th and head into the community.

6.  Participate in the celebration supper Sunday night to share where you saw God working.

ARE YOU READY?  LET’S PRAY.  BEGIN TODAY.

Finally!  We’re going to put some action where words were once all that most outside the faith could see.  We want to encourage you to join us in prayer for our planned October local mission encounter.  On a daily basis, we want you to join us in just a daily sentence prayer to be included in your personal petitions.  Speak with God for people in need in and around our church (Jacksonville and surrounding areas.)  Use the key of compassion—talk to God on behalf of those He wants us to serve.  Pray constantly for struggling citizens, for character, behavior, witness, and wisdom.  Help us to bring Jacksonville back to God.  Lastly, ask God to protect those going out in His name.  Give them safe travel and a sensitivity to identify the needs such as healing and health and failing marriages, rescue them from drugs, sin, and immorality.  Give us all wisdom. and direct our paths to those most in need.  Ask our Lord to be intimately involved with what is going on in our area and to activate us to share in that involvement.  In your private devotions, include Jacksonville and surrounding areas.  Reveal the needs that exist and our abilities to help erase those needs.  Be aware that you aren’t praying alone.  We’re a team of God’s warriors.  Contact us with your ideas on how to accomplish our prayer vigil.  Ready?  Set.  Go!
