Worship Celebrations
At North Springs United Methodist Church, "Worship Celebrations"
happen at various times and each feature a differing emphasis. From Sunday
Worship to Christmas Eve to Easter,
we offer excellent opportunities to participate throughout the year.
For a complete list of these and many other special services, drop by
and visit, or talk to the Pastor or Church Staff. We'd love to help you find a
worship service that meets your situation and needs.
Sunday Worship happens each week; a quieter meditative service at
8:30 and a more exuberant and upbeat service at 11:00. Both are
special and offer participants access to prayer, song, preaching, and
inspiration.
Christmas Eve features three unique services:
- At 5:00 p.m. we have the Family and Children Service. This is geared for the younger folks who are excited and full of energy. We welcome the extra voices of children who are too excited to keep their inner joy quiet. It's one of the happiest worship celebrations of the year.
- At 7:00 p.m. we have the Lessons and Carols Service. This service is centered around reading the Biblical Christmas story punctuated with the singing of traditional Christmas carols. The service ends with a candle lighting ceremony while we sing Silent Night. Come early for a good seat.
- At 11:00 p.m. we have our Communion and Candlelight Service. The
Christmas story is told, there are carols to sing, and we have the
added element of sharing in the Holy Communion meal. This service
also features a candle lighting ceremony amid the chorus of Silent
Night as we greet the first moments of a new Christmas morning. This
service is considered by many to be the most beautiful and moving of
the year.
Easter services occur at three times:
- At 6:30 a.m. we have the Sunrise Service - sponsored by the Youth Ministry Division, hearty souls dress warmly in whatever clothes they have and meet outside the church for a retelling of the Easter story. Live music and a dramatic sunrise in the east start the day with holy meaning.
- At 8:30 a.m. we have the first of two traditional services with fabulous music, traditional hymns, a full choir, and excellent worship.
- At 11:00 a.m. we offer the second traditional Easter service
described above.
