November Activities

A collection of treats will be held the month of November for college students and overseas military with a message of "we're thinking of you".  Suggested items to donate: prepackaged cookies, granola bars, dried fruit snacks, candy (all prepackaged), trail mix, gum, jerky, packaged cracker snacks, microwave popcorn, and your extra Halloween candy.

 

I Will Rise is a new program to provide support for the recently unemployed in the North Mason area. Meetings provide a process of solidarity building, networking and information sharing. Meetings are held from noon-2:30 PM with lunch and day care provided. Contact the office for date of the next meeting.

 

Monday Morning Bible Study for men and women is held 10 AM each Monday around the library table to discuss issues with prayer, thoughts, wisdom and humor with Pastor Austin.

 

Worship At The Table (WATT) is a new alternative to traditional worship      being held 6 PM each Wednesday in the Sanctuary. The service is shared over a meal that allows worship time that would be committed to mealtime at home and designed for all members of the family.

 

Tuesday Night Book Discussion will feature “Good Goats” by Dennis Lynn. A blending of story, scripture and theology, tackling questions of sin, hell, vengeance in such a way that readers are led to transformation and healing. The book discussion group is held each Tuesday night from 6:30-8:30 PM.  All are welcome!

 

Food Bank donations are collected Sunday, November 1st (the first Sunday of each month) for the Belfair Food Bank. Items can be placed in the baskets under the Welcome Table OR a financial contribution can be placed in the offering plate. Thank you for helping those in need.

 

Thanksgiving meal items for two needy families in our community is being collected. A turkey will be displayed the 1st of November for everyone to “pluck feathers” listing items needed for the meals. Items need to be returned to NMUMC by the 22nd so meals preparation items can be assembled and delivered before Thanksgiving.

 

Spaghetti Feed will be provided by the Youth Group at NMUMC on Saturday, November 14th from 5-7 PM. This is an all you can eat meal including yummy spaghetti sauce, pasta, bread, salad, and dessert! Donations appreciated. See you all there!

 

Girl Talk invites all women to meet other women on Saturday, November 14th at 8:30 AM at the church for an informal and fun meeting with activities, speakers, crafts, discussions, study, prayer, service projects and much more with leadership rotation and breakfast served.

 

United Methodist Men meet for a time of fellowship, sharing stories, and even breakfast! 8:30 AM, Saturday, November 14th at the Airport Diner at the far north end of the dining area through the double doors. Fathers/ grandfathers are always welcome to bring their sons/grandsons and friends too. Ladies meet at the church for Girl Talk.

 

3rd Sunday Lunch Are you spiritually fed by worship, but your stomach growls for something more? Join us for a meal and stimulating conversation to digest, Sunday, November 15th (the third Sunday of each month) for lunch at the Airport Diner. Carpooling from the church is encouraged or meet at noon. Come and enjoy friendly conversation and great food.

 

All Church Annual Conference will be held Sunday, November 15th from 2:30-5 PM at Gig Harbor UMC. A new format has been developed for clustering of churches to meet for the gathering and then move into rooms to conduct required actions. This will conclude with a potluck shared by Gig Harbor, Port Orchard and North Mason UMC. Everyone who is a member of North Mason UMC is encouraged to attend.

 

Free Sunday Supper will be held at the Theler Center in Belfair from 3-4 PM on Sunday, November 29th sponsored by the North Mason Coalition of Churches and Community. This is a wonderful mission to help those in need within our own community.

 

Advent Festival and Soup Potluck will be held Sunday, November 29th when our anticipation of the coming of the baby Christ begins. Come celebrate with a soup potluck immediately following the 10:30 AM service. Decorations will be out and ready for many hands and happy spirits to deck the halls, narthex, and sanctuary. Please join us as we begin the season with the true meaning of Christmas.
