          Labyrinth

A labyrinth is a walking meditation.  Here at North Mason we have two styles: a Classic or 7-path labyrinth and a Chartres or 11-path labyrinth.    Generally, on the first Saturday of each month from 10 to 11:30 AM one of the labyrinths will be available for walking.  The Classic labyrinth dates back about 3,500 to 4,000 years and has been found on nearly all continents.  The Chartres labyrinth dates from the 11th or 12 century and was proposed as an alternate path to Jerusalem.  Come and walk the labyrinth perhaps finding a new path to the Creator.  Go back to top listing

          Fall-Winter-Spring Worship

During the school year there are two worship services.  The earlier worship service is held at 9:00 AM and coincides with Sunday School time.  The Praise Team leads music during this service.  The style of worship is more informal than the later service.  The emphasis is on community and how we all relate in ministry.  The Scriptural focus is on one Scripture lesson for the day and how it relates to our lives.  Communion is taken around the table serving one another using intinction (dipping the bread into the juice).

The second service is formal with a familiar liturgical structure.  This service is held at 10:30 AM and is musically led by the Chancel Choir.  The Scriptural lessons for the day include all four Lectionary readings.  The message still relates to our daily lives.  Communion is served by families and receivers come forward to receive bread and juice using intinction (dipping the bread into the juice).  Return to the top listing
