Introduction

teachUM is the newest arm of United Methodist Volunteers In Mission of the North Central Jurisdiction. It was initiated in 2003 to provide mission team service opportunities for those in educational professions. Teachers are needed all over the globe to help instruct both youth and adults and show by example how Christ is part of their lives. Examples of teachUM teams are Vacation Bible Schools, camp counseling for underprivileged children, teaching English as a second language, teaching in United Methodist classrooms around the world . Each year the teachUM steering committee schedules a variety of teams with teaching emphasis both in the U.S. and abroad.
