Christmas Break (Dec 27, 2008-Jan 6, 2009)

Join
us on a Mission of Discovery to the Spice Island for
your Christmas Break mission trip! Work and relate to
Methodists on this special island in the Caribbean for
10 days on this island near the town of St. George’s.

For: Young adults 16-26 years of age
Team size: Max of 12 young adults, 3 leaders
Leader: Beverly Nolte, IA, former administrator for UMVIM-NCJ,
Ashley Seibel, W MI, Joel Zimmerman, MN
Cost: $1600 will cover the costs of the trip including
airfare from Chicago.
See and visit: beaches and Caribbean island settings
Work: repair a Methodist church, do visitations and mission
outreach
Work with: Methodist youth and district young adult leadership.
Timeline: application + $100 down due by August 1, 2008
Orientation: September 20, 2008 in Chicago area

Team size: Max of 18 team members
Leader: Oscar Carrasco, Elgin District
Superintendent, Northern Illinois Conference
Cost: $2600 will cover the costs of the trip
including airfare from Chicago.
See and visit: Spectacular Volcanoes, National
Parks, several thermal baths
Work: addition to the Methodist church at
Curacautin, which has 110 years of mission in this Andean region
Work with: Methodist College youth and district
young adult leadership.
Timeline: application + $100 down due by June
1, 2008
Orientation: September 20, 2008 in Chicago
area
