Sacred music has been an important part of the worship services at North Canton Community UMC throughout the nearly 150 years of its existence as a congregation in the North Canton area. Currently our choir has 15 members and is always seeking new additions to all sections. Musical highlights of the church year include special music at Christmas and Easter and occasional instrumental accompaniment with such instruments as the flute, trumpet and trombone. The choir also seeks additional instrumentalists to join the musical team of the church, such as guitarists, other stringed instruments and keyboard players. Each July, nine to 12 choir members participate in the Ocean Grove Choir Festival, held in the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Over 1200 singers from many church choirs raise their voices in a magnificent choral concert and worship service. The benefits from choir participation include a deepened relationship with our Lord and Savior through the words and notes of sacred music, new friendships among choir members, learning new music and a greater appreciation for the role of music in the life of the church. Current
needs include the following: additional choir members and a choir
director and singers for a youth and children's choirs. Please join
us for an exciting worship experience in sacred music.
