SHINING
THE LIGHT OF GOD IN OUR COMMUNITY!!
The
following are just a few examples of the opportunities for service
at North Canton Community UMC. All members and visitors are invited
to join in any of these ministries, or help us to see other areas
where we might serve our community, letting God's light shine in
the darkness!
Vacation
Bible School
NCCUMC
offers this wonderful outreach ministry each summer to all area
children, free of charge. This is our free gift to the community,
funded through NCCUMC's United Methodist Women.
United
Methodist Certified Lay Speakers
NCCUMC's certified lay speakers join with other area UMC lay speakers
to provide preaching and worship leadership to churches without
a full-time pastor, or in those times when a pastor is on vacation
or out of town. Please contact the Church office if you wish to
sign up.
Visitation
Ministries

Lectionary
Prayer Angels
This group meets weekly (Wednesdays at noon and Sunday Mornings
at 9:30 a.m.) to pray for our members, our visitors, our community
and our world, especially lifting up in prayer those written in
our weekly Prayer Journal which is posted outside the Sanctuary.
These prayer concerns are also lifted up in prayer during each worship
service every Sunday morning.
The
Holy Club
This
Spiritual Formation Group meets weekly (Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
and Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.) to share their faith journey with
one another, utilizing a printed format which enables each person
to talk about their personal spiritual growth on a daily basis for
the preceding week. Based on John Wesley's 18th Century covenant
group discipleship. Each group also "adopts" various mission
projects throughout the year, i.e. providing Valentines to shut-ins,
or providing music and food to a battered women's and children's
shelter.

peace at work in God's Creation. Please join us each 4th Thursday
morning at 7 a.m. Contact the Church office for a list of locations.
After-School
Church Camp
NCCUMC
is currently researching and working to create an after school mentoring
and shelter program during the school year for elementary-age children
of local residents who work outside their homes. If you would like
to serve on this Board or as a Director or Teacher, or have a child
who would benefit from such a program, please contact the church
office.
