North Northfield United Methodist Church
Members of North Northfield UMC make new friends at the Soup Kitchen at the United Church of Rogers Park
"To Know Christ and to Make Christ Known"--that is our Mission Statement at North Northfield UMC, where we live out our motto, "Love Grows Here." We are a caring church community of believers who welcome and encourage your participation in spiritual growth and our supporting ministries.
We believe we are called to change the world through God's love. In ways large and small, we hope to make a difference. Join us in our Outreach Ministries, which include:
- Monthly contributions to the local Wheeling & Northbrook Food Pantries
- CROP Walk (Toward an end to world hunger)
- Angel Tree Ministry (We partner with Faith Baptist in Chicago for ministry to families of the incarcerated)
- Operation Christmas Child (We partner with Samaritan's Purse)
- United Methodist Committee on Relief (various local, national, and worldwide ministries through our United Methodist denomination)
- Regular collections of Campbell's soup labels (helps to purchase products), snap tabs for Ronald McDonald House (helps to support ministry to critically ill children), Boxtops for education, etc.
- "Undie 500" to support sending underwear to orphans in Guatemala
- Serving at a soup kitchen in Rogers Park, Chicago
We are especially excited about our upcoming second Mission Trip to Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation in Fort Totten, North Dakota. The Mission Team this year includes Kath Edsall; Emery and Jack Edsall-Parr; Geoff Graham; Mina Kraft; Dick and Nancy Nusser; Clayton, Cullen and Lois Parr; Karen Peter; Sandy Spangenberger; and Jenny and Natalie Staufenbiel.
