NFUMC Vision Statement:
"Sharing Christ’s warm transforming love
with our community, our state, our nation and our world."
John Graham Shelter: On the first Sunday of each month, you are invited to bring in a canned food item that will go to a local food pantry. These food items will be dedicated to the glory of God during our offertory time. Look for the food basket in the back of the Sanctuary and place your food items there.
Special Sundays, Meetings and Events:
| Wild berries meets Wednesday October 21st at Bee Dike’s home to put together the towel sets for the Christmas shop. | |
| Sunday Nov. 1st : Mission Trip members share their experiences during worship. Sunday school makes Heifer cards. | |

Youth Group: For youth 6th-12th grades and their friends: Robin Curler has put together a good schedule.
The North Ferrisburgh United Methodist Church, 6-12 grade Youth Group, 2009 -
2010 Schedule
Pastor / Leader: Kimberly Hornung-Marcy khmarcy@comcast.net,
Assistant Leader: Robin Curler 425-2530 c4winds@gmavt.net
This is the schedule and activities that we have worked out for the youth
group this year. We are in need of other adults/parents to help out at these
meetings. We have to have the leader and a helper for each meeting, Safe
Sanctuary guidelines. The dates that are marked as tentative are subject to
change due to participation. Please let us know what you can do to help out, if
we want to keep a youth group going we need to be involved.
Thank you, Kim & Robin

Fall Bible
Study Opportunities: We will
be continuing the Bible Study on the book of Acts for 5 more weeks. Lois Kerwin
will teach next week. Please come
for learning, and fellowship. The morning study runs from 10:00am—11:30pm.
The evening study features a simple supper at 5:30pm and runs 6-7:30pm.
PINS Needs: DCF recently acquired a new space to use for their family time visits. Family time is a model that they use for supervised visits that is supportive to the parents and the children. The parents have a family time coach, who provides the supervision for the family and coaches the parents to teach them parenting skills. Ideally, it is their goal to have family time visits in the parent's home but due to safety reasons, this is not always possible. They have a small space at the DCF office but because of the number of families they serve, they needed more space and also a space that is more child friendly. They are looking for the following items to have available for family time:
| tactile rings and balls | |
| puzzles | |
| blocks | |
| games | |
| storage bins | |
| small lamps | |
| floor cushions | |
| paints, markers, crayons, etc... | |
| child size table and chairs | |
| adult size table and chairs (for family meals) | |
| wood for building shelving/storage areas | |
| area rugs |
If you can donate any of these items, please bring them to the church as soon as possible and Kara Griswold will deliver them. Any questions, please contact Kara at moe_110@hotmail.com or 233-4619.
Holiday Marketplace Bazaar: The First United Methodist Church in Burlington is having a Holiday Marketplace Bazaar on Saturday, November 14th from 9am until 4pm. Gather your friends and go shopping for unique finds then come together in fellowship over lunch in a cozy café setting.

Addison County
Gospel Choir: The ADDISON COUNTY GOSPEL CHOIR is looking for singers for our
winter season. This choir includes members
from many different churches in Addison County. We will be performing on
December 5th at the Vergennes Holiday Stroll and “Lighting of the
Green”. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday nights, from 7 to 9pm at the Champlain
Valley Christian Reformed Church in Vergennes, beginning October 20th.
The choir is directed by Suzanne Rood.
Mission Statement - Ad Council approved focus for church and all committees: As we share Christ's warm transforming love with our neighborhood, state, nation and world we want to specifically focus on these three areas:
| Strong Sunday School and Youth programming-nothing is impossible for God but unless we reach young people by the time they are 18 it is much harder to reach them. | |
| Strong Mission-we are saved to serve, blessed in order to be a blessing. | |
| Spiritual growth-the closer we grow to Christ the stronger, wiser and more centered we will be in all the things we hope to tackle. |
NFUMC Olan Mills On-line Directory: Our Picture Directory is available for everyone to use on-line! This is a new feature they provide to their customers, at no additional cost. This allows you to go on-line anytime to see our church family pictures as well as look up address/phone number/email address information. Also, as we have new people come to our church, we can add them there as well. So, take a look and enjoy! To go to our online directory:
| Go to website: http://om073030. onlineolanmills. com/home/ or go to our home page and click on NFUMC Online Olan Mills Directory (make sure to add this site as one of your Favorites, for easy access in the future!) | |
| Click on the tab that you would like to go to. | |
| You will need to enter a password to see our pictures or personal information. | |
| Now you can look around and see our family! |
Note: They do not include pictures which were not taken by Olan Mills and are included on the "Unavailable Page" in the hard copy directory. We will try to add them ourselves. But please be patient!
Worship Recordings Available!!!: CD recordings of the scripture reading and sermon are now available online! Just log on to http://www.gbgm-umc.org/nferrisburgumc/ and you can hear last Sunday's scripture and sermon. Click on "Sunday Service Recordings". Your computer should allow you to increase volume if needed. If you would like a CD of the scripture and sermon please let Melanie Flynn or Pastor Kim know, nfumc@madriver.com. Melanie Flynn has hung a basket over the copier outside the church office. It contains CD’s of previous sermons. Feel free to borrow these. The Zoom H-2 which is recording worship has been donated by Jane Turnau in memory of Ted Turnau.
Our Presence: We promise to uphold our church with our presence. If you are healthy and in town we hope you will worship with your church family. Everyone is unique and everyone has something special to offer. CHCH-what's missing UR!
Have you invited a FRAN to church? FRAN stands for friend, relation, acquaintance, neighbor. Most of our new members were first invited to attend by a FRAN! Pray for the person you wish to invite. Invite them without pressure or argument. “We are really having a good time at church these days, would you like to try my church?”. Then it is up to them and the Holy Spirit to respond.
Endowment Funds - Have you remembered your church in your will? Trustees are making excellent use of the interest from our endowment funds even though the stock market is not strong right now. Our elevator was fixed due to these funds. Hurray! And many thanks to John DeVos and Don Kerwin for months of research and work to bring our elevator up to current code.
