Carrollton UMC is a place of grace, filled with hope, wonder and the presence of God. When I first visited the Carrollton neighborhood, I had the strange feeling that I was at home. Thirteen years later, I still wonder about that moment, but I celebrate the fact that I am at home here, and that I have the honor and privilege of serving as pastor of this spirit-filled place. A place that is awakened to the needs of Post-Katrina New Orleans. Through "Operation New Creation," Carrollton has welcomed over 1600 volunteers from across the country to assist in the rebuilding of this great city. We have also opened our doors to community groups working to create a better city.
Whether you’re coming to Carrollton UMC to explore our worship services, to be a part of a volunteer Hurricane Katrina relief team, or simply to visit our facilities, you will sense the warmth of this congregation and the way in which the Holy Spirit flows through it. Our family seeks to be a source of spiritual strength for the Carrollton community. We proclaim the Gospel through word and deed.
We invite you to share the warmth of our worship services Sundays at 10:30am. We are located at 921 South Carrollton Ave. Please call the church office (504-861-7597) if you would like to schedule a visit during the week, or email me, Rev. Cory Sparks, at cory@carrolltonmethodist.org.
