How do I get there?

www.Mapquest.com can show you the driving directions inside the city with arrows showing “one ways.”

On public transport, take the U-4 towards “Bornheim Seckbacher Landstraβe” or “Enkeim” from “Hauptbahnhof” or “Konstablerwache” or “Bockenheimer Warte,”

Exit at “Merianplatz” and leave the station in the direction of travel, turn left, across “Bergerstraβe,” through the playground and the church is on the left.

Coming from “Bornheim Seckbacher Landstrasse” or “Hohenstraβe” exit at Merianplatz, coming up to the rear of the train to the outside.

Coming by Bus from Siedlung, take the #32 toward “Ostbahnhof” and exit at “Hohenstraβe,” go right from the direction of the bus and walk down Bergerstraβe or take the U-4 one stop to “Merianplatz.”

When approaching the church follow the signs upstairs to the sanctuary (there is an elevator if stairs are nonnegotiable). If arriving late, you can go to the left gate and in the side door, down the stairs to the Green Solon.

Who are we?

Established in December 2007, New Hope Fellowship provides English Language Worship every Sunday. Our congregation has come from South Korea, Germany, Iran, and Brazil, Taiwan, Austria, USA, China, Australia, South Africa, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Ireland, Mongolia, Canada and Belarus. We are students, families, singles, and couples. We are short-term and long-term residents of Germany, as well as ‘just visiting.’

We welcome children in worship on Sundays, and provide a special space for the young with us.

We are United Methodist from the tradition of John Wesley, and are part of a world-wide Christian denomination that is present in Germany with some 60,000 German-speaking members in about 500 churches. (The “EmK” - Evangelisch-methodistische Kirche)

We support missions in “Central Asia” and Africa, and have responded to the world’s natural disasters through the denominational missions program, The Advance for Christ and His Church and its German counter-part, Welt Mission.

If English is your first, or best “second” language, we would invite you to come and join us in worship and study!

 (Every Sunday @ 10:00 AM)

What’s New?

-      We continue with our worship time of 10:00 AM and our style of integrating with the German-speaking Methodist folks at Christuskirche, our host congregation. The idea includes beginning together in both languages for some singing, prayers, and visual theme setting, and then to separate to continue with the sermon and intercessory prayer in our own best languages. That way we can also share in fellowship and coffee/tea after worship together.

-      Remember, Worship will begin at 10:00 AM upstairs in the main sanctuary until January 15.

-      After the first of the year we have revised our worship pattern, still meeting every Sunday, but having a traditional worship with Communion only on the first Sunday’s of the months. During the other Sundays of the month we will focus more on interactive and participatory study of the Bible and Christian Living. These Sundays we are emphasizing a more informal and casual approach (blue jeans are fine) and we will have coffee, tea, and some snack during our time together. On these study Sundays we will not meet with the German congregation for the opening, but come directly to the Green Salon at the 10:00 hour. When we have traditional worship, we will meet first upstairs for the opening together. A monthly theme chart will be printed ahead of time so that everyone can think a bit about the theme. There will be prayer and one song each time. We hope to attract people who might be seeking to find out more about the Christian faith and understanding from other faith perspectives. We will also have regular worship on the “special” Sundays – Pentecost, etc.
