Focus On Prayer |

My focus as Lay Leader this year is prayer. The Church must arm itself spiritually, and we do this through prayer! I recently read that sometimes we are so busy doing things FOR the Lord that we fail to spend time WITH Him. So, I am asking each of you to pray diligently and daily for our church this next year. I ask that you pray:
1. For our mission. Our mission according to our Book of Discipline is "to make disciples of Jesus Christ."
2. For God's vision for our Church. What does He want us to do? In what direction does He want us to go? Help us to seek His vision, not what we as individuals want.
3. For our preacher. Pastor Charlie has a huge responsibility and has to wear many hatts -- preacher, teacher, administrator, counselor -- to name a few. So, please pray for him daily.
4. For our Church. What are the needs of our congregation? Let us not focus on what we want or what a few want, but let us focus on the real needs of our congregation.
5. For our Administrative Council. Our Church council members are our leaders, so let us pray that they lead in the spirit.
I truly believe that if we, as a congregation, focus on praying for our Church in 2008, New Fountain will grow and flourish, and we will accomplish our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ!
