Pastor Joann comes to the New Carlisle United Methodist church in her
first stint as a Senior Pastor. Her ministerial experience spans a six
year period with additional experiencing as a high school speech and
drama teacher as well as a university adjunct faculty member.
She received her Master of Divinity from the Associated Mennonite
Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana in 2002. She is a graduate of Ball
State University with both a Master of Arts in Speech and a Bachelor of
Science with a double major in Speech and Theatre.
Joann has served as an associate pastor at the Chesterton First
United Methodist Church since August of 2003. Prior to 2003 she was the
Director of Evangelism. Other ministerial experience includes: Student
Local Pastor at the Topeka United Methodist Church, Topeka, Indiana and
Youth Ministry Coordinator—First United Methodist Church, Middlebury,
Indiana.
Her teaching skills range from communications faculty at Goshen
College, University of Kokomo as well as a high school faculty member at
Marion High School, Marion, Indiana. While at Marion, Joann served as
the Drama Director, Speech and Debate Team Coach, and the Academic (Fine
Arts) Team Coach in addition to teaching Drama, Speech and TV Production
Classes.
Pastor Kaiser has been a conference speaker at the Hesston College
“Pastor, Calling The Called” Conference and participated in the “Worship
& Preaching as Evangelism Convocation” at Drew University in North
Carolina.
Other church and community related interests include: Walk to Emmaus,
Chrysalis Movement, Northern Indiana Nominations Committee Chair, Youth
Camp Director, Drama Director, Community Civic Theatre, Summer Fun
Program for the Middlebury Parks Department and working with people of
diverse backgrounds.
Joann has three children. The eldest,
Elyse, is a student at the
University of Indianapolis studying youth ministry and communications.
Diana will be a freshman at Ball State in the Fall of 2005. Matt will be
a high school freshman at New Prairie. His interests include hockey and
music.
