Mobile Health Clinic:

Sponsered by Newton General Hospital will be here on Wednesday April 19th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.  This month's special health check is a stress quiz.  This is a wonderful service provided free to the residents of our area, please come out and take advantage of this service.

Nursery Shower:

Wonderful things are happening in our nursery.  It is our continuing effort to make the nursery the best it can be and also to improve the safety for our children, and you can help.  We are having a nursery shower during the family luncheon an April 16th.  Cards with names of items needed for the nursery are attached to the door of the nursery for your convenience.  Please take a card with the name of an item you wish to purchase and bring it to the luncheon on Sunday.

Wedding Bells:

The Newborn Church family is invited to attend the wedding of Wendy Ayers and David Sandvidge on Saturday April 29th at 5:00pm at Newborn UMC.  There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony at the Burge Plantation.

The UMW will be sponsoring a bridal shower for Wendy Ayers on April 9th at 3:00pm in the fellowship hall.  Everyone is invited to come wish Wendy and David a happy future.

Vacation Bible School:

Vacation Bible School is right around the corner!  We are in need of 4 teachers, 4 teachers assistants, 2 persons to lead games, 2 persons to lead music, someone to coordinate snack suppers, and 2 persons to do crafts.  Two years ago we had 12 children in VBS.  Last year we had 30.  Lets make this year the best year yet.

Easter Services:

Covington First UMC will be hosting this years Holy Week Services (Mon. April 17th through Fri. April 21st.) at 12:00 pm.  There is a light lunch served at a small cost, followed by a sermon by one of the local pastors.

We will have a Good Friday Service  here at Newborn on Friday April 21st at 7:00pm.

Easter Sunrise Service will be Sunday April 23rd at 7:00am at Jack Roquemore's pond in Mansfield.  Mansfield UMC will be sponsoring the community breakfast following the service.

Great American Clean Up:

Sat. April 15th at 9:00am.  Once again we will be participating in the keep Newborn clean campaign.  We will meet at the city hall at 9:00am for coffee and donuts and then clean north and south Johnson st. and Hwy 142 inside the city limits.  Bring your gloves, weed eaters, and a strong back and join us on Saturday April 15th.

Newspaper Recycling:

We have an account at the Newborn Recycling Center.  You can take your newspaper there yourself or drop them off at the church.
