The Newberry United Methodist Church is an active group of
people who minister to the Newberry area in many ways!
Some examples of what we do are:
• Participate in mission and ministry programs of God’s
Country Cooperative Parish, such as Volunteers in Missions
• Offer Sunday morning worship at 9:00 a.m.
• Provide Christian Education for students in Kindergarten
through Twelfth grades at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays
• Organize a Peanut Butter and Jelly ministry to provide
lunch supplies to children of needy families during the
summer months
• Support a family with children by providing food, clothing,
school supplies, etc.
• Conduct pasty sales to raise money for missions
• Coordinate an active youth ministry for middle and high
school students with service projects, social events and
faith-based retreats
• Deliver communion and visit our shut-ins and elderly in
nursing homes, assisted living facilities and their homes
• Enhance our worship services and other programs with music
by our Handbell and Chancel Choirs
• Offer book studies such as “The Purpose Driven Life”
• Offer support groups as needed such as a “Grief Support
Group” and
• Provide a free “Community Meal” once a month for those
in the community who have difficulty feeding their families,
for those who normally eat alone, and for those who are
seeking Christian Fellowship
Please join us or call for more information if you wish
to participate in any way in the activities listed above.
