Jr. High Spiritual Life Retreat
April 15 - 16
Cost: $50
Sign-up Deadline: Sunday, Mar. 26

Theme: Hoody Hoo:
Here's How God Looks at You!

How do you see yourself? How do your friends see you? How do you see your friends? These questions may sound simple, but the answers effect how we live our lives. When you think about it, the way we feel about ourselves, the way we treat other people, even the way we talk and act can be influenced by these issues. While this can be a positive thing, most often it’s not.

During this retreat we’ll discover how God looks at us and how we should look at each other. We’ll discuss how we can share God’s view with others and create supportive and affirming atmospheres wherever we go. You’ll leave ready to chal lenge the rules by which society tells us we must play. Hoody hoo! Look what God can do through you!!

Speaker: David Carroll
Before beginning his current position as Associate Pastor for Spiritual Formation at Galloway Memorial UMC in Jackson, David served churches in Corinth, Columbus, and Winona. He has been involved in youth ministry for 24 years, and his experience and love for youth are clearly evident in his life and ministry. Through his messages, David will share about God’s love for us and will encourage and us to share that love with others in a new and powerful way. Through his time spent with the youth, he will share these things through example, which is simply the kind of person he is. We are blessed to have him as our speaker, and you will be blessed as God uses him during the retreat.

Music: Paul Valentine
Paul has been working with youth the past eight years and is currently working with the youth at FUMC, New Albany. He is the Associate Pastor and is also a student at Memphis Theological Seminary. He loves youth, and loves using music with youth. He will be leading us in worship during the retreat with praise songs that will take us from "joyful noise" to love songs to God. You will hopefully leave with some new songs to use in your youth group at home, but you will definitely leave having worshipped God.
