Ichthus '00 Info

Travel
The dates for Ichthus 2000 are April 27-30. We will leave the church that Thursday after school in a Barkley bus and pick up the Iuka youth group on the way. We will eat supper on the road, and should arrive at the Ichthus campgrounds just outside of Wilmore, KY, around 1:00 a.m. Another youth director and I will be taking our gear up there on Wednesday, so when you arrive, the camp will be set up and you can climb in your tent for a "good" night's sleep. We will break camp Sunday morning (after a great weekend of fun, fellowship, worship, and music)and head home. We should arrive in New Albany around 6:00 p.m.

Accomodations and Meals
We will be camping out in tents and cooking our own food. A tent is a tent, so I can't promise you much there, but I can assure you that the food will be much "better than your average camp food." While there are many groups who will eat mostly cold food and junk the whole weekend, we will have a hot breakfast every morning, sandwiches for lunch, and a delicious supper each evening. Yes, you will have to put up with port-a-potties and standing in line to take a shower, but you'll be having so much fun, you won't even care. Those of you who like to camp will have a great time, and those of you who don't will have a great time, too. You can't lose!!!

Cost
The cost per person will be $80. This will cover your ticket to Ichthus 2000, your transportation, and your meals while we're there. You will need spending money for supper on the way and breakfast and lunch on the way home. You'll also want to bring spending money for t-shirts, cd's, food from vendors, etc. . . while we're on the campgrounds. You won't want to bring any less than $50, but you can get by on that little. So while you can bring as much money as you'd like, this should give you an idea of what the total cost of the trip will be for you.

Deadline
The deadline for signing up for Ichthus 2000 was Sunday, February 13! In order to get the best price on tickets we have to order them by the end of February. This means that we must have all our money in the bank before then. Although the deadline has passed, there are a few people who haven't given me their money yet. If you are interested in going, please let me know and I'll put you down on a waiting list. That way, if any of our youth or any youth from one of the other churches can't go, I can let you take their place. This will have to be on a first come, first served basis, so the sooner you let me know, the better.
