IMPORTANT REGISTRATION AND GENERAL INFORMATION

  

We are happy to send you the event registration and housing information material for the Northeastern Jurisdiction Quadrennial Meeting of United Methodist Women.  We look forward to you joining us in Springfield, Massachusetts, as we are “Called by Name”.   The registration items in this packet may be duplicated.

 

REGISTRATION FORM:  A Registration Form must be completed for each person who will attend.  Mail the Registration Form, the $65.00 Registration fee, and if applicable, the Child Care Registration Form and fees to the NEJ 2008 Registrar:

Please make a copy for your records.  Registration closes on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 or when seating capacity is met.  (Conference Presidents will be notified when Registration closes due to space limitations.)

 

HOTEL INFORMATION is included.  The cut off date to receive group rates is Tuesday, February 26, 2008.

 

      We have negotiated special rates with Holiday Inn Springfield, Springfield Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, and Sheraton Monarch Place.  Shuttle service has been arranged for these four (4) locations.  If you stay some place else, you are responsible for your own transportation.

                                                                                                                                      

PARKING:  Holiday Inn Springfield and Hilton Garden Inn have complimentary parking.  Limited parking is available at the other two (2) hotels in private lots for a fee. Check with your hotel at time of registration for the prevailing cost.  Regardless of your mode of transportation, please complete the transportation information on the Registration Form. 

 

HOTEL CHECK IN:  When making your registration, ask for the check in and check out times. Registration for the Quadrennial Meeting will be at the Springfield Convention Center beginning at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 11, 2008.  Opening session begins at 6:15 pm Friday.  Each hotel will have a directional board to the Convention Center.

 

OFFERING:  The NEJ Quadrennial Meeting Offering will be contributed to UNDESIGNATED GIVING—WORLD THANK OFFERING.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:  There will be greeters wearing red at the airport, train station, and hotels to greet you and to assist you.

 

There will be a collection of food and school kits to benefit local food pantries and homeless shelters in the Springfield area.  As United Methodist Women we are concerned for the needs of women, children, and youth.
