Caring Ministries

     CARING Ministries exists to share Jesus's love in personal and practical ways with individuals in our church and community. Our goal is to follow Christ's command to care for one another. Christian care giving is demonstrated through a number of distinct and direct ministries as listed below. 

 

Communion Ministry (Shut-Ins)
Once a month, on Communion Sunday, communion is taken to our homebound members as they have requested.

Funeral Ministry
In consultation with a bereaved family and the Neely clergy, this committee provides a light reception following a funeral or memorial service.

Seasonal Gifts
Easter lilies and tulips, Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas poinsettias are delivered to the homebound and those in nursing homes.

Short Term Relief Care
Upon request, the following services may be provided for members in need of them: grocery shopping, transportation to an appointment, respite for care-givers (for example: staying with an individual to give family care-givers an opportunity to go shopping, attend support groups, or just have a break).

Visitation Ministry

     It shall be the duty of the pastor and or the Outreach and Mission work area, to have a regular visitation/Communication with each member of record a minimum of once a year. Nonparticipation the Pastor/Membership Secretary and Pastor Staff Parish Relation, Has a moral and spiritual obligation to nurture all members and seek out its nonparticipating and indifferent members to lead them into a full and active church relationship.

·        Church on Wheels Ministry: Communion/home Visits (Sick & Shut-in) The Pastor in charge insures Communion is delivered monthly within 10 days after the first Sunday. Encourage necessary activities and opportunities for spiritual growth through individual and family worship and individual and group study, and continually to aid the members to keep their vows to uphold the Church by attendance, prayers, gifts, and service.

·        Benevolence (Charity) Pastor in charge submits a Special need assessment/Voucher to the treasurer (not to exceed $50.00), A Benevolent Gifts made to needy Individuals (Complete a Ministry of Helps Information Form). Pastor communicates with Administrative Council.

·        Sympathy/Bereavement: Bereaved family fellowship, Pastor communicates with Benevolence Coordinator 

·        Refectory/Ministry:

        Prayer Breakfast: Each fifth (5th) Saturday of the year.

        Repast, Hospitality

·        Transportation Ministry
