Choir Practice

Our next choir practice will be held on Wednesday,
May 21, at 7:30 PM. Please join us in
fellowship and songs of praise!

Our Sunday School Classes for Adults, Young Adults,
and Children, meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM
A Nursery for children aged three and under is
available during the worship service.
Bible-based activity packets are available
for children attending the worship service

Outreach Ministry

Remember those in our community by donating CANNED
FOOD, PAPER GOODS, and other imperishables to the
Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. Put donations
of items in the box in the fellowship hall. Our
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN also encourage you to
bring in your EMPTY PLASTIC CONTAINERS (of the
type that margarine or cool whip comes in). The
Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry here in Polk County
and similar ministries in Hendersonville, Brevard and
Asheville, buy staples (sugar, flour, grits, etc.) in
bulk and then use these containers to parcel out the
staple items in household-sized quantities. Our UMW
finds this a great way to recycle these containers in
a useful and compassionate way and hopes you will
bring yours here to the church. Financial contributions
are also appreciated. Thanks!

Upper Room

Be sure to take a copy of the new UPPER ROOM
daily devotional booklet, covering May - June, 2008.
Available Free in the fellowship hall, one per family please.

Prayer Group Meeting

Our PRAYER GROUP meets on Wednesdays, at
6:30 PM in the Wesley Cottage. Please join us! (If you would
like to be part of a prayer group but this time is
inconvenient for you, please speak with Tony)

Church Bulletin Deadline

News for the next Sunday Church Bulletin should be
submitted by Wednesday, May 21st, at 12:00 Noon.

Memorial

On Thursday, May 15th, at 6:00 PM, a
MEMORIAL UNVEILING AND DEDICATION SERVICE will be held
at Saluda Veterans Memorial Park. This is in memory of
CHIEF ANDREW WILLIAMS, a former Saluda Police Chief
who was killed in the line of duty on September 3rd, 1976.
A reception will follow at the Pavillion.

Welcome Chris!

Our new summer intern from Duke Divinity School,
CHRIS ALLEN, will be with us this Sunday, May 18th.
Tony's last Sunday with us will be on Sunday, June 22nd.
Our new pastor, REV. ROB PARSONS, will arrive on Tuesday,
June 24th. His first Sunday service will be on June 29th.

Men's Breakfast

The next MEN'S BREAKFAST will be held on Sunday,
May 18th, at 8:00 AM. Men of the church are urged to come and
also to invite a friend. Better yet, bring one along with you!

UMW Meeting

Our UNITED METHODIST WOMEN will meet on
Tuesday, May 20th, at 7:00 PM, at the Wesley Cottage.
All the women of the church are invited.

Teachers Needed

We need 3 TEACHERS to alternate Sundays for
our Preschool/Early Elementary, Preteen/Teen and Elementary
classes. Please contact Thomas Mont if you are interested in helping.

Sign-Up!

SIGN-UP SHEETS are posted in the fellowship
hall for the Nursery, Hosts (pre-service refreshments),
Ushers, Acolytes, Readers and Flowers. Please help to
enhance our Sunday experience, by signing up to
volunteer in one or more of these areas of service.
