Jesus taught us to love! The list of those we love is lengthy and differs for all of us.
But do we tell others of our love for them often enough? Would you like to surprise someone you
love with a special gift? Are you perplexed about what to give your elderly aunt who "has everything"
for her birthday? Is there someone you love for some special action? For a $5.00 gift to mission,
you can answer these questions.
The North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Women (NCCUMW) has an opportunity for you to honor a
person you love in a way that provides both recognition of your love and admiration for the person, and
gives a gift to UMW missions that will help a woman, child or youth somewhere in our vast world.
The "Hearts for Love" project honorees will have their name
on a bright red heart that will be displayed at the NCC UMW Annual
Meeting on October 11, 2008. Honorees will receive an acknowledgement
card that tells them of their honor and by whom the gift to missions
was given.
This opportunity to express love is open to everybody and should be promoted to the whole local church.
For example, a child might want to spend his allowance to let his Mama and/or Daddy know he loves them.
Or, maybe a husband or wife might want to surprise his/her spouse with a special gift.
