Naperville Area CROP Walk

What happens if it rains?

Let's find the Silver Lining in the clouds and rain on CROP Walk Day!

The CROP Walk will continue in sunshine or in rain.  The only reason for cancellation would be in the unlikely event of a Hazardous Weather Warning from the US Weather Bureau. (Conditions such as lighting storms or high winds would be considered hazardous.)  We encourage every walker to dress appropriately and to consider one's safety and health condition in making your decision to walk.

No matter what the weather, hunger-fighting programs here in Naperville, Northern Illinois, and around the world depend our CROP Walk.  But together we can find the silver lining in rainy weather.

Suggestions from the Naperville Area CROP Walk Committee:

1.  We encourage you to dress for the weather and walk in spite of the weather - a truly inspiring effort on behalf of hungry people around the block and throughout the world!

2.  If the 5K seems to be a challenge, take the 1 K route.  Videos and other educational materials will be available in the fellowship hall of Community United Methodist Church, 20 N. Center St. .

3.  If you choose not to walk, are unable to walk, or unable to complete the walk because of the weather, we THANK YOU for your efforts!  We encourage you to collect all of your pledges and donations.  Your sponsors may want to shower you with something extra to help in the fight against hunger because of your extra rainy-day effort. Each gift helps feed hungry people.  The Walk is a symbolic way to reach our goal of raising funds to help hungry families.

4.  If your group (or individuals in your group) wants to give a special "SILVER LINING" gift to help end hunger and offset the support that may have been lost due to weather, your gifts will be appreciated.  Such checks should be made payable to: Church World Service/CROP and give them to your recruiter.

All of our efforts make an important difference for our neighbors in need, both near and far!  Rainbows of thanks for your active caring and your faithful service.
