In 2003 beginning in April thru December, this community outreach ministry, gleaned or rescued over 409,000 pounds of fresh produce and canned food for residents of Mitchell County, who have been hit hard by manufacturing plant closings, layoffs and a depressed local economy. In 2004, we reaffirmed our commitment to community. To date, 21 October 2004, we have gleaned, salvaged and distributed 627,108 pounds of food to those in need, for an 18-month total of over 1 MILLION pounds.
