Come Join Us In Worship and Fellowship

The Murphytown United Methodist Church is located on Murphytown Road about one mile from Hwy 50.   We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, alive again after having died for our sins... as scripture teaches us.  We believe He taught us to serve Him daily through worship, ministering to each other and to strangers in our midst, reaching out to those in need, supporting mission efforts at home and abroad and frequent fellowship that we might stand strong and united in Him.   We welcome anyone to join us as they work out their own understanding of faith in Jesus Christ.   For a sample of the kinds of studies we are exploring in evening worship and Sunday sermons, see the Devotion Focus.

Murphytown United Methodist Church is an active Body of Christ currently supporting Community Outreach such as the Parkersburg Urban Ministries program while also sending support to the West Virginia Annual Conference for local and foreign ministries and mission projects.

A family picnic and other events are planned during the year and all are welcome to join their sister church, Red Hill UMC , in bus trips and other fellowship gatherings. We took our church family outside during the summer months with a community singing on the front lawn . One of the groups featured out on the lawn was the Proclaimers that brought out a large crowd of gospel music lovers.

Are you tired of hunting around the internet for special sites for your family and personal interests as well as to find out what's happening in the United Methodist churches around the nation and the world?  Check out our Favorite Links page for some places to begin your search that may make things easier for you.

Please plan to attend any of our services, join in the fellowship and consider making our Body of Christ your place of worship and service.  We welcome new ideas for fellowship, worship, outreach and ministry.

God bless you one and all in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Sue Jones, Pastor
