God's BIG Backyard: Learning to Serve Jesus and others!

Pre-registration is required due to limited enrollment.
Forms are available at church or may be downloaded from on this page.
Completed registration forms may be mailed to or dropped by Mt. Zion by June 15, 2008
or completed the first night of the VBS event, June 16th.*

Participants will learn to serve through Biblical themes that incorporate
puppet skits, Bible stories, crafts, games, fun foods, music, and fellowship together!

Serve Friends and learn abut four men who carry their friend to Jesus - Mark 2

All VBS participants and families are also invited back to sing songs
at 11:00am during Mt. Zion's Sunday Worship service on June 22, 2008.
Come as you are! Dress is casual and the community is invited!
A special slideshow of the week's VBS events will be shared and all children
will receive a free cd copy of the presentation, compliments of Mt. Zion UMC.

VBS Volunteers were needed to prepare props, lead group sessions, help serve children, cook, clean up, help with skits, and for prayers! We requested your prayers in preparation for this local mission event and during VBS week. A Christ filled week to reach out to our local community while serving our own children as well.

VBS donations were needed for crafts items, food items, and monetary donations, so that the entire week is of no cost to the community. This summer's Mission Project will be to collect money in socks to benefit our local Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Department! So expect to see some firefighters and a big red truck during the week's activities! We were proud to adopt them as our VBS mission project for 2008.

*Our focus is to serve children in grades K - 5th grades. However, there are limited spaces
available for 3 & 4 year olds with children of adult VBS volunteers receiving priority. Please register early!
